Text
The exhibition “AAVV: 30”, which inaugurates the new Galleria Fumagalli’s venue (newly expanded and restructured) wants to generate a reflection on the activity carried out from 1992 to today and illustrate at the same time some new choices. The gallery opened its current venue in 1996 with a group exhibition of the artists with whom it collaborated such as: Carla Accardi, Piero Gilardi, Bruno Munari, Gianfranco Pardi, Pino Pinelli, Giuseppe Uncini, Enrico Castellani, Emilio Scanavino. Considering the activity of the gallery until today (1992–2005), in this exhibition are on view some artists who have represented solid and productive relationships in the past, but who have not been collaborating any more.
The challenging work done by the gallery in the recent years, which will offer many other results in the future, is represented by artists such as: Enrico Castellani, Giuseppe Uncini, Agostino Bonalumi, Marco Tirelli, Gianfranco Pardi, Nunzio, Chiara Dynys, Jannis kounellis, Peter Wüthrich and Giorgio Griffa. An anticipation of future programs includes some artists with whom the gallery has recently established a new collaboration: Maurizio Nannucci, Lawrence Carroll, Richard Wilson and Mauro Staccioli. Some exhibited works have been chosen from the gallery’s private collection.
On show past, present and future of an activity based mainly on the desire to support and spread Italian art: late 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. In the future the gallery’s goal is to expand its cultural commitment, activating collaborations with new artists and critics, even in a foreign direction, as well as to improve its already-considerable editorial activity (in 10 years it published more than 50 titles, including some reasoned catalogs, editions for museums and collaborations with prestigious publishers), and to improve the archives of Enrico Castellani, Giuseppe Uncini, Agostino Bonalumi and Giorgio Griffa, which the gallery manages.
