The book “L’origine profonda” with text by Giovanni Maria Accame accompanies the first solo exhibition by Giorgio Griffa held at Galleria Fumagalli, Bergamo in 1995. In the essay the author retraces twenty-five years of Giorgio Griffa’s painting: since 1969 he has been confirming a very high quality and intelligence in his work, which is a constant reflection on how to make the origin emerge, on how to make perceptible, even intuitively, those initial gestures and thoughts from which derive behaviors and role models, which do not only concern painting but, more extensively and intimately, doing and thinking, from their anthropological and cultural point of view.
