The catalog “Consagra e la frontalità” is published on the occasion of Pietro Consagra’s exhibition entitled “Banche e Panche” at Galleria Fumagalli, Bergamo in May/June 1997. The volume includes the artist’s text “Banche, Panca” and it is a reflection on the work that rejects the three-dimensionality of sculpture in favor of frontality, hence of the two-dimensional character, as an alternative to the totem, that is to the sculpture that was placed at the center of an ideal space.
