On the occasion of the solo exhibition dedicated to Giulio Paolini “Teoria delle apparenze”, Galleria Fumagalli publishes the catalog curated by Angela Madesani and Annamaria Maggi. The exhibition, hosted in the gallery spaces in Milan from 16 January to 14 April 2018, stems from the desire to celebrate the poetics of one of the greatest masters of contemporary Italian and international art. The exhibition, which this book documents, brings together a selection of works that span the period from 1969 to 2015. The book illustrates, through the texts of the curators and the installation views, the impetus and interest which have led to the project dedicated to a great forerunner of conceptual art; from the first works on geometric drawing up to the most recent creations, the work of Giulio Paolini is revealed as a study on the genesis of a plurality of forms and images, a continuous research and practice of “concealing” and “revealing”.
