The book is published on the occasion of Paolo Ghilardi’s solo exhibition “Decoro, arredo urbano. Opere 1967/1978” at Galleria Fumagalli, Bergamo in 1999. In the interview curated by Annamaria Maggi, the artist illustrates “the color project” commissioned in the 80s by the city council of Bergamo in order to rethink the urban decor of the important historic centre. The text by Claudio Cerritelli entitled “The action of color, between surface and environment” deals with the evolution of Paolo Ghilardi’s work from 1967 to 1978.
