The volume documents the exhibition “Pittura Analitica” held in 2003 at the Museo Angelo Bozzola, Castello visconteo sforzesco in Galliate, curated by Marco Meneguzzo. The exhibition and the catalog present a historical review of the Italian protagonists (Rodolfo Aricò, Carlo Battaglia, Marco Gastini, Giorgio Griffa, Paolo Masi, Vittorio Matino, Carmengloria Morales, Claudio Oliveri, Pino Pinelli, Claudio Verna) of that trend developed from the mid-60s to the late 70s, which identifies in the painting the object of artist’s investigation. It investigates the relationship between the artist and the canvas, between the pictorial action and the trace left. The texts by Lorenzo Borelli and Marco Meneguzzo accompany the series of images.
