Galleria Fumagalli presents the exhibition “Milano est 10 minuti” featuring new works by Umberto Cavenago designed and created specifically for the occasion. These works have a language which alludes to the logics and tools of the production system: motors, chains and conveyor belts released from any productive obligation take possession of the exhibition space, modify it and invade it, forcing the balance and spatial relationships.

In Superfetazione a camme the central pillar that supports the gallery, the central fulcrum of the space, turns into a dynamic element, an eccentric and rounded volume: a cam with its rotary motion interferes with the surrounding space and modifies the perception of the architectural layout. In Fremito creativo, a group of oak wood sculptures goes from a state of stasis to a trembling, breaking up the layout in search of a different location.

Parassita funzionale features a chain conveyor influenced by the environment, which follows the different heights of the spaces and takes root in the ceiling overhanging the visitors and invading the spaces of the gallery, even the non-exhibition spaces. A book with an anthology of critical texts together with images of the installed works will be published by Galleria Fumagalli and will be presented during the show.
