CHIARA LECCA
TURQUOISE - MUSEO BAGATTI VALSECCHI
Galleria Fumagalli announces the partnership with Museo Bagatti Valsecchi for the exhibition Turquoise by Chiara Lecca (Modigliana, 1977) curated by Matteo Chincarini.
“The Palazzo, born as a residence and private home of the Milanese family, is distinguished by the richness of its furnishings, refined furniture and decorative objects of value and quality,” explains Matteo Chincarini. “It is in this context that the works of Romagna artist Chiara Lecca are presented to the public, becoming on the surface a mannerist affectation but actually conveying a message addressed to our relationship with the natural world. The works blend into the horror vacui of the home, matching in shape and chrome making them integral parts of the interiors. The vases, large bouquets and pedestals housed at Bagatti Valsecchi are in tune with the furnishings and add a current and critical note to the space. This contamination continues the museum’s exhibition purpose and enhances its collecting spirit so much desired by the founding brothers.”
For the occasion, Chiara Lecca presents a selection of works from the Blackbigbubble and Still Life series, accompanied by two specially conceived and created works: Turquoise Fake Marble and Turquoise Still Life.
