KEITH SONNIER
DIS-PLAY II
The Dan Flavin Art Institute hosts the environmental installation by Keith Sonnier Dis-Play II (1970): a work made of foam rubber, fluorescent powder, strobe light, black light, neon, plywood and glass. Displayed for the first time at Sonnier’s solo exhibition at Castelli Warehouse, New York in 1970, it brings together the continuous interest in cinema, light and experiential artistic environments. The installation is accompanied by “Film and Videos 1968-1977”, a selection of videos that reflect the artist’s ten-year research in the media field.
