HELICOTREMA 6
Helicotrema is a festival that offers a program of sound works by international artists and authors. Inspired by the experiences of the first radio broadcasts from the last century, the contributions are presented in group listening sessions. After the experience of 2015 at Punta della Dogana, Helicotrema takes shape in the exhibition rooms of Palazzo Grassi and at the neighboring Teatrino, at the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana and at the IUAV University of Venice. Blauer Hase and Giulia Morucchio have produced special listening sessions in the form of playlists, which can be used autonomously via smartphones and tablets, which will accompany visitors during the exhibition. In the foyer of the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi three listening sessions will be broadcasted: the first is curated by theorist and performer Brandon LaBelle, the others investigate the nature of sound and listening through live sets by artists Robert Curgenven and Petri Kuljuntausta.
With soundtracks by Monira Al Qadiri, Mohamed Bourouissa, Angus Carlyle, Francesco Cavaliere, Michele Ciacciofera, Caroline Claus, Enrico Coniglio, Viv Corringham, Pauline Curnier Jardin / Vincent Denieul, Stefano D’Alessio, Nicola Di Croce, Donato Epiro, Gaia Formenti, Ayreen Anastas and Rene Gabri, Nana April Jun, Hassan Khan, Marcos Lutyens, Daisuke Nakajoh, Maurizio Nannucci, Camille Norment, Bianca Pitzorno, Anna Raimondo, Simon Ripoll-Hurier, Lina Selander, Alberto Toso Fei, Enrico Vezzi / Remo Zanin, Giulia Vismara, James Webb, Hildegard Westerkamp, Samson Young.
