The artist residence “I.D.E.A. Salento ”, conceived by Nicoletta Rusconi and in collaboration with Patrizio and Marina Ziggiotti, opens at the “ex essiccatoio” in Gagliano del Capo (Lecce). The first artist in residence is Ighshaan Adams who recently completed his experience at Cascina Maria in Agrate Conturbia. For the new I.D.E.A.’s venue site-specific installations were commissioned such as the works by Mattia Bosco and Letizia Cariello. While Mattia Bosco explores the possibilities of Lecce stone, similar to tuff, creating sculptures that he transforms into masks, Letizia Cariello interacts with the orange grove through an environmental installation. She wraps the trees with meters of red thread, according to a process of reconstruction of ties and connections that the artist has developed in her artistic research.
