In the year of the 58th Venice Biennale, Fondazione Prada dedicates to Jannis Kounellis the first major retrospective after the artist’s death in 2017. The exhibition, curated by Germano Celant and developed in collaboration with the Kounellis Archive, brings together over 60 works from 1959 to 2015, establishing a dialogue with the eighteenth-century spaces of Ca’ Corner della Regina. The exhibited materials also include archive documents, such as posters, invitations, photographs and the video of the performance “Die Hamletmaschine by Heiner Muller” by Theodoros Terzopoulos with the scene by Jannis Kounellis, held at the Teatro Piccolo, Milan on 28 December 2015. The performance was curated by Annamaria Maggi and Alexandra Papadopoulos and organized by Galleria Fumagalli.
