Maurizio Nannucci opens MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE in Rome, an artwork created in 2015 with the support of Amici del MAXXI and donated by the artist to the MAXXI Museum. Today, it is presented in a new and unprecedented exhibition version designed specifically for the Gazometro context.

The monumental neon sign, made with white light, invites observers to go beyond mere visual perception and embrace the ability to see beyond the visible. The words MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE trace a new urban geography, creating an ideal bridge between contemporary art and industrial archaeology.

Redesigned in a new site-specific configuration to dialogue with the architecture of Gazometro G3 at the Eni Complex in Rome Ostiense, the installation is directly visible from the external roadways, and will be open to the public from 11 November 2025, to 26 March 2026, at the Eni Gasometer in Rome, Via Ostiense 72.
