The volume includes some thoughts about Gianfranco Pardi’s works following a metaphorical journey from Sainte-Victoire to Tangier. The first is referred to the artist’s production of the 90s characterized by the series of the Maschere and of the Montagna Sainte Victoire, a clear reference to Cézanne, followed by the Nagjma works, which in Arabic means “star”: pieces born during long residencies in Tangier, in a sort of re-enactment of the journey towards South experienced by Paul Klee or Henri Matisse.
