The volume documents Gianfranco Pardi’s works through a metaphorical journey from Sainte-Victoire to Tangier. The first corresponds to the artist’s production from the 90s characterized by the series of Maschere and of Montagna Sainte Victoire, a clear reference to Cézanne and an overview on painting, followed by the Nagjma, which in Arabic means “star”: works born during long stays in Tangier, in a sort of re-enactment of the journey towards south experienced by Paul Klee or Henri Matisse. The images of the works are accompanied by the text by Giorgio De Michielis.
