The catalog documents the two exhibitions dedicated to Jannis Kounellis held at Galleria Fumagalli in Bergamo and the Ex Oratorio di San Lupo from 23 May to 26 September 2009, the latter promoted by the Museo Diocesano Adriano Bernareggi. At the gallery the artist exhibits 20 twin couples, juxtaposed, of iron sheets: each slab is two meters high by ninety centimeters in width, that is the size of the bed used several times as symbol of the relationship between the work and the human existence. Each couple, pressed by two other tightly bolted iron sheets, hosts two black coats. At the Ex Oratorio di San Lupo, Kounellis covers the floor with an expanse of black coats, each with a hat and a pair of shoes, on which there is an iron cross visible from the windows on the ground floor.
