Giorgio Griffa is the protagonist of an anthological exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris featuring 18 of his works, including an unpublished one, created specifically for the centre, entitled La Recherche (The Search, 2021).
The exhibition aims to shed light on this great artist of Italian and European painting in the second half of the 20th century. Associated with the Italian pittura analytica (Analytical Painting) movement at the turn of the 1970s, exhibited with several artists from the BMPT (Buren, Mosset, Parmentier, Toroni) and Supports / Surfaces groups, he nevertheless always retained great independence and originality.
