Museo Diocesano in Milan presents Attorno a Tintoretto. La Deposizione. Quattro artisti contemporanei sfidati da un capolavoro, curated by G. Frangi, G. Manieri Elia, N. Righi.

Starting from La Deposizione by Jacopo Tintoretto, four contemporary artists – Jacopo Benassi, Luca Bertolo, Alberto Gianfreda, Maria Elisabetta Novello – interplay with the work of the Venetian artist through different expressive languages, bringing new contemporary visions. What emerges is an unexpected dialogue between past and present.

The artist Maria Elisabetta Novello (Vicenza, 1974) presents the site-specific installation MORTE VITA, LA MORTE NELLA VITA. VITA MORTE, LA VITA NELLA MORTE., recalling the first verse of Il Canto delle Crisalidi by Carlo Michelstaedter. The words, made through ash, appear insubstantial and fragile, emphasizing the suspended dimension between the material and immaterial.
