The catalog documents the exhibition by Chiara Lecca “Quod Paret” at the Naturkundemuseum Ottoneum in Kassel held from 19 June to 6 September 2015. The exhibition dialogues in various ways with the historical space of the Museum of Natural History: the works on view do not differ from the permanent collection’s objects. For example the Moths and Butterflies, made of photos of pig’s ears, are positioned alongside the giant insect models; continuing along the permanent exhibition’s path concerning the history of the earth and the region, there are works such as the Fenders, covered with animal skins, or Forma (Bitu), made of Bitto cheese and which recalls with its shape the outlines of the land positioned in the case next to it. The majority of works on view are set on the floor dedicated to the permanent collection of natural history.
